Background

During his 30+ years in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, Jonathan has held senior sales and marketing positions in multinational manufacturers and a retailer. He brings deep and wide experience of the food industry to his clients. In 2003 he joined Nielsen, the world’s largest market research group, where for 7 years he was their Business Insight Director. In that role he collaborated with Oxford Univeristy’s Environmental Change Institute, and carried out extensive research in to consumer attitudes to sustainability.

In 2010 he formed Jonathan Banks Associates Ltd which specialises in helping businesses turn data in to actionable insights. He has spoken at more than 200 conferences in 40 countries, made many appearances in interviews on TV and radio, and been widely published by industry magazines and the FAO.
